Alta CAI fitment to hood liner

Installed a v2 Alta CAI last night, great finish and fit - looks like it belongs in the engine bay. However, once I lowered the hood, I had a concern. It appears the inboard edge of the divider wall may sit a bit high relative to the hood liner - can see very slight buldge in the hood once it's latched. Note, I checked to ensure the bottom of the airbox is well seated, etc - wondering if the hood insulation needs to be molded or if slight variation in hood shut tolerance may be causing this issue.

Thanks in advance for any feedback..

Is the underhood insulation actually deformed/dented that you can tell?

You could take some chalk (or similiar product) and mark the top of the box and see how it hits the hood.

I have not heard of any problems with the box.

It hasn't deformed the liner, but can definitely see the outline where the gasket fits snugly to the liner. I think it may be ok if I can manage to deform the hood liner a bit - the garage is so cold these days, may be matter of being more flexible once it warms up to better align to the hood. First time carefully closed the hood, noticed that the driver side wasn't latched until I pushed down on the corner - after careful looking, noticed the slight buldge in the hood. I'm not so concerned about deforming the hood liner; however, I do not want to flex metal.

My alta sits snug against the hood liner and makes an indented outline on it, but never a hood bulge. The m7 brace took care of that

If the liner is just barely indented I think you are just "seeing" a bulge that may not actually be there.

The liner won't budge right now - deformation would be good - may just have to do it while the hood is raised to help facilitate fitment

That's strange, the liner should have about 1/2 inch of compression available in the area of the intake.

You might want to take off that part of the liner and see if maybe you have a hood reinforcement member that is getting in the way.
