how much room is there between the front bumper metal and the inside of the plastic facia? does the facia sit right on the metal, or is there some european pedestrian crash space there?

there is a foam looking thing that is about 2" thick inbetween them....not much room...

aha! that's what i suspected based on both the regs and on pushing on an R56 fascia.

.....which means that since there's also a lot of room between the hood and the engine, some clever and enterprising soul could make a carbon fiber hood and a fascia that were closer looking to the R53 lines!!!!

I suppose if one wanted an R56 that looked like an R53 that bad.
