Drivetrain JCW Injectors Install - DIY?
JCW Injectors Install - DIY?
Does anyone out there have experience installing new fuel injectors (JCW or other) on their 02-06 MCS?
I have a set of new JCW 380cc injectors that I would like to install on my 06 MCS. I have an EVOTECH tune w/ 15% pulley, header, exhaust and CAI. I have some generic install instruction from MINI but they reference special tools and recommend flashing the ECU. The install seems pretty simple but I'm not sure if the "special tools" are required or if I will need to have the ECU reflashed for the new injectors.
I would like some detailed instructions and good advice from someone who has done it before.
Thanks everyone.

I have my box of JCW injectors in my hand
,I've looked at the pics on this thread.I'm in same boat! It's a little daunting, but I dont see how there are any special tools needed. They might be jerkin ya around.I'm so close to doin it myself.
No special tools are needed, and it's a very easy install. I followed Obnxs' post, except for two things:
I opened the gas cap to relieve pressure, and squirted out as much gas as I could via the valve on the end of the fuel rail (the valve is just like a bike tire's, and it's under a screw-on black cap. Catch this fuel with a rag.)
And you can drive around with the uprated injectors all you like, but the car will be running rich and you'll suffer much worse fuel mileage. Get it re-tuned for the injectors, or you're just wasting your time (and gas).
Don't worry about it. Injectors were by far the easiest thing I've done on the car.

As for the driving around "rich",.......How does a tune with Jan on Friday sound?
