Exactly what I thought.

But a great idea. Hope it helps keep the temps low. Are you running the Rotrex? If so, I thought I understood that it really minimizes the heat factor?

Is the header also ceramic-coated? (sorry if you said already and I missed it).

Please let us know how much, if any, that this wrap quiets down the exhaust note.
Thanks, Steve

Yes I am running the rotrex and yes in runs way cooler then the Eaton. You can still benefit from cooler under-hood temps. Wait till you see the new intercooler and air box.

Hey we got a LOT of rain over the past few weeks (more rain that we typically see in an entire year). I've had my header (The same one) on and wrapped for 4 months or so, no issues so far. I didn't use any type of spray.

There are a lot of theories about power increases, but the main benefit is reducing underhood temperatures.

Taken from another website:

Header wraps are designed to keep the heat in the header to improve scavenging of the cylinders. Keeping the heat in the header allows the exhaust speed to remain high. (the right idea)

Hey Longboard,
Did you have to shape, alter, remove the heat shield that bolts to the head when you put on your new header?
I'm wrapping my obx in the event of any brief contact with a heat shield,as well as the heat reduction benefits.

Prior to 2-3 months ago I had no way to measure any temps. Post Scangauge II install I can now monitor limited Post IC temps but that's about it. Unfortunately I have no idea whether it did anything or not. The header was off, I had the wrap, and it only took about an hour to do, so I didn't see any reason NOT to do it. When you're in the 10k+ mod club 20-30 bucks is pretty irrelevant .

The heat shield fits fine. It bends like butter so if you have tweak it you can.
