I have had a few issues after I installed the Alta CAI.

1. First off when it is cold outside (>40) sometimes my car stalls out. I have to crank it multipule times before it stays on.
2. Next when I am idling the car will rev itself. It's not a giant rev just revs a little above 1000rpms. This happens when it is cold and warmer.
3. Lastly I have a wierd "vibrationy" knocking noise coming from the engine compartment when I idle.
   
   
   

Hopefully someone can help me out. I really like the performance gain but if this is adversely affecting my engine I would like to fix it. If you need more information let me know what you need and I will be happy to tell you!!!

 

Not that knock is exceptable, but this is something i have heard on all the R56's. They have a strange, almost scary sound that comes from the engine, but only when cold.

But besides that, how do you have the MAF orientated? If it is at a strange angle it might mess things up.

But other than that i have never heard of the other things you are describing. Maybe you have a vacuum leak??

 

welcome to all that is R56!!! Mini will figure something out about the ice on the throttlebody issue eventually...I hope =)
