While I'm not running a GRS, I have run several after market IC units. Several "floated" and never had leakage but I did use heavy duty boots - like ALTA.

What you can also do to get a better "clamp" on the boots is to take the brackets ( that go on the inside when you put the two together) and file down 1/16 -1/8 of inch - this will allow the bracket to close smaller. This was something recommended by GTT out of the UK.

On the subject of OCC - if you install one your IC will be oil free.

hope this helps

hmmm, i didnt think to file the brackets down to allow for more clearance.
interesting idea, i'll have to look into that.

the lack of oil is most certainly a concern. someone said to me that that oil is good for the SC too. i dont know.... i think i'll seal it up and go without the occ

Seems there's two separate issues here:
1. IC boots not properly sealing
Solution: Replace IC boots (stock or silicone)
2. Crankcase oil accruing from blow-by
Solution: Install OCC

filing the brackets worked for me , just don't get greedy on how much you remove 1/8" is plenty.

When I first swapped IC's my stocker was oily. I stood it upright on a rag and was shocked at what came out. Since I added my OCC nothing to speak of.
