Drivetrain weird sound?
weird sound?
Hi all,
I installed my DDM cai a month ago and nwo i'm starting to hear some weird sound when the car starts up in the morning (I live in vancouver and its around 0 to 3 celcius in the morning). It isnt' like the helicopter sound that other ppl are experiencing and doesn't seem to go away if i engage the clutch. It sounds like a grinding sound but really high pitched and not very loud... any ideas?

If it is a high-pitched whine (and isn't a squeal of metal grinding on metal), it may simply be the power steering pump, which is quite normal on start-up.
After the initial start-up, how long and what are you doing when the noise is no longer heard?

Perhaps lywheel chatter, due to the dual-mass design. After warming up a bit, the chatter disappears?
Is it a rotational sound that depends on wheel velocity/gear/RPM or any other variables?
