I have this issue where im getting a metallic tingling noise when im at 1/2 throttle or more, also losing power and boost when i get on the car. I did install a DT bypass valve about 8 months ago, and im wondering if it is failing. i dont get the sound in neutral only in gear while driving, at slow driving speeds or cruising on a parkway at 70 it seems like there are no issues.
anybody experience this?

 

there is an inherent noise like you describe at around 3000 rpms or so . we all have it to a dree or other . i have no intake other than a filter on the throttle body and i still get it .

 

Have you checked the boots on the IC? They do wear out over time and if they split a bit you will run lean as well as have boost loss. You may be hearing detonation in that part throttle situation and thus the noise. New noises are RARELY good noises. (Unless you just installed a new exhaust!)

Check those things and let us know!

 

check the silicon pipe when u reinstall your IC.

I do have once leak boost after i put the DT, i check everything and realised that the silicon to IC was not fit correctly.

Double check on that..

About sound, i didnt encounter that
