What is the max boost on the UNICHIP programming as the ALTA boost guage I just put in sometimes goes up to 21psi in 3rd ?

(this is not the ALTA programming on '1' but the Unichip on '0')

One either map a flash to 21 psi is not uncommon and not reason for concern.

Thanks again!

You got to it before I did!

We do have versions for the R53 Euro or otherwise.

Thank you!

I have a 2008 and i have had the unichip for almost 2months, i just recently had to take my car to the dealer because of a warning light that had come on, it was a engine outline that was shaded in yellow and a message came up "reduced power" removed the unichip and dealer said that it was a mass air flow sensor or a boost problem.

Thanks for the post. I am confused. Did the UniChip come off, and the dealer then noted a problem with the MAF sensor and Boost? Or they said the UniChip caused the other problem?

Just curious. Regardless, let us know how we or UniChip can help you!

Chat soon!

this has happened to me 3x now. I thought it was a overheating issue, I had removed the grill behind the hood-scoop and figured that the airflow was causing the issue. Due to my wife causing a wreck in one of our cars, I have not driven the mini much the past two weeks (driving the rental car). But I am turn the rental back in today, and will be driving the mini more often so I will see if I keep getting this warning light, and the engine cutting power. It all started after I had the unichip installed, I didnt have any issues for two weeks though. The past 2x I had the warning light was after I removed that scoop grill, but last week I put it back in, will see if it makes a difference.

I think he meant he got the warning light, he then took the chip off and took the car to the dealer...

IT IS NOT THE GRILLE!!! You can cut a 4' hole in the hood, and it wouldn't affect anything.

The harness is BAD, lets get you in touch with UniChip ASAP to get you a new one! Sorry you had to deal with that at all!

really, crap man that means I will need to take it back to Dynocomp and pay for them to install this new harness??? That will probably cost me an additional $45-100 depending on how long it takes them. They had issues with getting the old one in, what will it involve in replacing it? Is it like a whole new install?

sorry i didnt finish my post. I had the engine light come on and then removed the unichip, took the car to the dealer and dealer could not find an issue.

My question is did the unichip cause the problem after nearly 2 months of use? The light has not come back on since, but i have not put the unichip back on. Is the unichip safe to use?

It can be done at home in about 2 minutes. I believe you only have to replace the plugs, not the harness. UniChip will be happy to help with everything. UniChip is now handling ALL warranty claims directly. Lets get on the phone today and get things going for you.

Chat then! Thank you and I apologize on UniChip's behalf for the inconvenience!

Without having UniChip testing it, I wouldn't put it back on the car. Contact our tech dept, or UniChip directly 503-640-7465 Ask for Jack Friedman or jack@unichip.us

alright, well I just tried to call you, and was told you weren't there. I was instructed to call Unichip to handle it, called them and had to leave a voicemail with some tech guy. Any idea how long it will be before I can get this taken care of?

I am SO missing my Unichip right now. You really get used to that extra power/torque especially higher up the rev range. Different car to drive and I dont have many mods.
Should be interesting to see what the new flash is like as the old ALTA flash was not working properly on my car

Nope, but have been driving on map 1 (94 octane, sea level) since April. Keep us posted Scott.
