Drivetrain Custom intake how to?
Custom intake how to?
When I had my vette's I always built my own intake. They had aftermarket units from $400-1200 and I thought all of them laughable. Things I did made just as much power usually for under $50.
I was about to buy an intake today but at nearly $300 I just can't bring myself to do it. I plan on going full Alta within the coming months but just not on the intake.
This isn't a diss to Alta's intake. I'm sure it's a great well built piece and all other aftermarket units are just as expensive. I also know the Alta unit is special because it's built to work well with the finicky mass airflow sensor. If I wasn't saving for a wedding and a house I'd be buying it.
I know many people have made their own intakes. Can anyone give me a DIY writeup and review with pepboys or whatever items?
Thanks!
