R56 Short Throw Shifter+Warranty Problems

Any feedback from users with short throw shifters for the R56, ie Craven, Alta, etc. Which one seams to be the favorite for the R56?

Also, was wondering if anyone has had a warranty problem with tranny and dealer claims the short throw shifter had something to do with it.
Could this be a potential warranty void issue??

Thanks

Braden

ALTA for sure! Shameless plug I know!

But addressing your warranty concerns there is VERY little concern. The transmission has factory detents in it that prevent over shifting etc. The shifter is truly independent from the rest of the car. Our warranty would take over where the factory leaves off on the lever etc.

These are a GREAT mod and I think you will see other happy clients from ALTA (and others) chime in shortly. The ALTA is a long time reliable option for the MINI and we were the first to EVER offer a fully adjustable shifter (**** height, length and **** position.) in 2003. The old "often imitated never duplicated"

Let me know if I can help in anyway further!

Thanks again for considering ALTA!

Thats ok, I do it all the time with my band Petroleum, oops just did it
I've used short shifters in the past and have always enjoyed them, I guess my big concern is having a car still under warranty. I would hate to have a problem with the tranny and have the dealer say something stupid like you modified it with the short shifter and that may have attributed to the problem, so therefore we can't warranty it I guess I could always re-install the stock shifter if there ever was a problem.

Anyway, will the JCW carbon shift **** fit that shifter??

Thanks

Braden
