At the time there were not any aftermarket systems. If I had to do it now. I'd go with the ALTA setup as it is quieter.
Thanks. I have to say that I totally admire how aggresively you get after tuning your car and it sounds like a fast little sucker - can't wait to hear how your track time with Mario turns out (Good Luck). I mean; it took me over 3 months to settle on rims and tires for cryin' out loud. As for the drivetrain - I suspect it might be years!

I am definitely considering the Alta Turboback Exhaust System. Now, if I can only find $1600.00 worth of change in the sofa...

Thanks! Nice color btw!

I had a R53 same color and everything and it was pretty well modded, until I got rear ended and it was totalled.

When I got my R56 I wanted to catch up quick! I am very happy with the mods I have made so far. It makes me smile every time I step on the gas!

Now that you have the Alta Unichip ECU, what are you going for next? It seems like you already put down a considerable amount of power... so the New Alta Turbo? How about the FMIC?

All of this Alta stuff popping up sure makes it hard to justify the JCW Stage I...

yes the FMIC is next. Then probably the downpipe. Honestly I'll prpbably hold off on the bigger turbo for a while.

I will. Soon. I think I will start off with the intake and boost tubes.

Mike - did you get any CELs with the new ECU?

So......we did the test over the weekend and today. Looks like I made up about 6 cars since the ECU. I must say that we are very close though. It was definately not a blowout.

I am very happy since MARIOKART is putting down impressive numbers to the wheels.

Before the ECU he would get about 5 cars ahead of me. Now I can pull on him. I'm sure he will post soon and give his side of the story.

And more then a few simple mods to get there . Just shows you how stout these R56s are to begin with.

I had the Cat-back for a few weeks before adding the downpipe this last Saturday. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I feel a greater increase now than I did when I installed the CAI and Cat-back. I can't wait for the ECU you've been raving about!

Are you looking for what will give more power, or sound, etc? I can say adding the downpipe makes the car sound simply amazing , while adding power, where as when I added the intercooler it just added power obviously. With the ecu tune, between the intercooler and downpipe, which will make more power is a good question....I think the intercooler might make a little more power with the ecu tune, but won't give you the awesome sound....just get both ....that's what credit cards are for; enjoy now, pay later

Thanks Scott,

I am looking for power at this point in time. I will eventually do both the FMIC and downpipe I just cant swing them both at the same time right now. That would be close to $1800.

P.S. your car is going to FLY when you get the ECU. You should have the same results as Adam's car ( Howard ), or pretty close!

Then I'd go with the downpipe first because I'm sure you'll be getting similar power gain, but will also be getting that awesome sound...so 2 gains versus the intercoolers 1 gain of more power....but definitely both is the ultimate combo........and I'm hoping/thinking that my car should haul once I get the ecu tune....that's why I can't take this waitlol:

Yes, is was not a blow out! Mike, your car has come along way. I can't believe that a $700 part made such a difference. I need NOS now, but I'm saving up for the Rotex kit. They are trying to get 280whp and 220wtq. That will be perfect for my car, but I'm sure you will save up and get the new Alta turbo kit and try for 300whp. When will it stop?

It must be lonely having the only tuned R56.
Mario

It's a disease! I am glad that you live far enough away because I would be broke trying to catch up to you. At least I can enjoy my 15 minutes until the next mod you do

p.s. your car is still super fast!
