These are not my pictures. I got them from a local car forum member on vadriven.com who when down to the BMW Performance Center for some training (he's a BMW tech).

Really strange plastic box (noise reducer?) in the intercooler 'hotpipe'.

So - this motor can only be seen by techs-in-training... or can the public access them as well?

not sure but, I'd guess it's only for the techs. But, that would be a cool tour, if you could see all of the engines
