ECU Tuning...

Hey. My Peugeot 207 GT 150 bhp, is now running with 190 bhp and 290 nm I have a handmade 2,5" stainless exhaust from downpipe and back, and open pipercross filter. It is all made in Denmark, and the car is running very good with the ECU tuning Nice to now that we have some good tuners here in Denmark. I'am now looking for some more power, but i don't no wher to start Some here in Denmark say that the exhaust manifold don't flow over 200 bhp, i don't no? I think that i will go for a stainless downpipe with a 400 cells race cat, and a bigger handmade IC and new ECU pogramming. What will be the next step for me

Mikael from Denmark

I have never modded an R56, or a prince engine, but I have modified other engines, so I will take a shot.

I only know of one prince engine has been dynoed at over 200PS.In this thread a cooper with almost every Alta modification piece hits 201Bhp (203PS). Notably, that does not include ECU tuning, or an aftermarket exhaust manifold or turbo. It seems like you already have a straight exhaust from the turbo back, and you plan a bigger intercooler. The bigger intercooler might make enough difference, considering how much the larger Alta unit seems to help on a Cooper S, but I have no idea what size/shape yours is from the factory.

Beyond that, this is a complex engine, with probably some differences between the two besides just a different ECU tune. What is the difference between your engine and the 175PS RC engine? I do not know of any car in the US that has the 150PS variant.

On an added note, since Peugeot has had this engine in the wild for a year longer than MINI, has anyone over there noticed any parts of it to worry about?

(ratt, the 207GT (150PS) and 207RC (175PS) have the same engine as the Cooper S. They don't sell them here. If they did, I would still buy the mini.)

scabpicker:

What modifications specifically does that Mini Cooper S have to produce 201bhp?

Alta's kitchen sink, according to the thread:

That's about 3005$ in parts, excluding the inlet hose, which is not up on their website yet, as far as I can tell. It seems like a fairly reasonable price to me, but maybe they or one of their resellers will come up with a package deal once their ECU mod is released.
