DDM Works Install

Hi All,

Wanted to post this as a new thread since no one has updated the first review. I will follow up with future comments. Here we go:

DDM WORKS RIS INSTALL

The fit and finish of the components supplier were very good. Install instructions were excellent. Dave and Ivy are good people, and very professional business wise. They are helpful and always prompt in responding. I am stationed in South Korea, and they shipped the package to me very well. Usually, I have BIG problems with businesses shipping goods to an Army Post Office, but they know their stuff. More businesses should operate like theirs.

The RIS adds to the aesthetics of the vehicle, while making the scoop functional.

I was looking to get something to make the scoop functional, gain some increased performance/mileage and basically looked cool. If I had just wanted more noise, I would have just clamped on a filter... The engineering/research DDM Works put in to this system makes good sense to me.

Hard to tell if there is a power gain. Usually I am stuck in Seoul traffic, but when I get a chance, I’m on it. Feels good. The car seems to feel better. This is what I expected from this system. I wasn’t expecting a miracle. The MINI wants to run… When I get a chance to make a good high speed run on the highway, I will post up again. Just gotta look out for the cameras.

Sound with the foam filter is very mild. At normal/throttle speeds I cannot tell the difference from stock. At WOT you can hear more of a GROWL, and between shifts you can definitely hear (Louder with the windows open) the DV or BOV. Not obtrusive, or annoying, just right in my view. In combination with the stock exhaust, the car performs like a sleeper. I guess if you want to make noise, go with the K&N filter. I’m not looking to make my 28K baby into a race car. I do like spirited driving when safe, and would like to run a track day sometimes. This is where the RIS would really shine in my opinion. I think if you run your car hard, the RIS will definitely make an improvement.

I have a 6spd. My friend and I bought 2 RIS systems from DDM. We installed on my friend’s AUTOMATIC car first. He immediately noticed a power gain, (though I think it was all in his head). The DV pssst was not as pronounced as in my car with the stick. Anyway, he loves it! I know there is increased performance/MPG gain (slight) associated with this system. Sorry, no dyno here… If you want something professional for an intake see DDM. Should have come this way OEM in my opinion.

I am very satisfied. Motor On……..
