BMP Intake
I got my BMP PROMINI PERFORMANCE intake yesterday morning, and afer playing with a MKIII GTI on the LIE for about forty miles i came righte home and installed it,
WOOOOW
The S/C whine is so much louder and the throttle resoonse feels soooo much cripser, a very highly recomended intake

The BMP and K&N Typhoon intakes have been around for a long time and I've never heard of anyone with these intakes removing the partition between the engine bay and cowl area.
Some intakes like the Alta and RDR require removing the partition. Other intakes like the Madness and Mini Mania which have a heat shield that "seals" with the partition, can be enhanced by cutting a hole in the partition.

well i did notice that the hole in the partition was quite small
but it didnt occur to me to take it out, wouldnt that make it REALLY easy, compared to only moderatley easy for something to get in there?

I ment, a bigger hole would let pass more air than the stock hole... but since the filter is really big, i just decided to remove the whole thing, no problems so far with that set up... now i can hear more the sweet S/C whine
Part number
Mr.GBMiniGirl, do you have the part number of that Amsoil filter. I too have the BMP intake, second and third (BMP STB) mods way back in Feb 03. Two days ago I started looking at the Amsoil nanofiber filters. Does yours fit properly? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Very old school. What is that, like a 32k EEPROM or something? Maybe UV?
