Noltec Bushing Inserts

So I popped open my Bonnet sometime back and I noticed some grease under my Passenger side motormount... this seemed to be a common problem and I took it in to get replaced under warranty.

So.. I figured.. now that the mount is new, why not improve upon the system as a whole. So I got myself a few new goodies. One of which.. is Shoe's magical do-all engine dampner, and the other is a Lower Motor-Mount insert by Noltec.

I have a 2006, so I don't have the upper bushing.

It took about 5 minutes to put on after I got my car up on jack stands.

I got it for a grand total of $23.84 from an online distributor shipped to my place in So Cal.

I noticed an enhanced feel during shifting when I put in Shoe's engine Dampner. But after I put in the Noltec bushing.. for some odd reason it just felt a lot better during acceleration in cornering.

The idle vibrations were there.. but not menacing at all. After the first few minutes of driving you completely forget about it.

All and all.. I recommend the Noltec Bushing Inserts to anyone looking for a good deal on a good upgrade.

It might not include a small bushing replacment.. but it sure beats $85.00 + Shipping.

Mini Madness engine bushings

Hi guys,

i have recently done the same, although i bought from Mini Madness. On their site they list the full kit, but i had it tailored to suit my 05 MCS. One difference to the one shown in this thread is that the Mini Madness kit provides bushing inserts and a complete new bushing for the small end.

I too noticed smoother shifting, better/crispier take off etc. I would recommend it to anyone set on keeping their mini for a few years.

So those 2 halves are installed OVER the OEM motor mount? Anyone know where the other cylindrical mount is installed?

It goes in the other end of that same bracket.. you push out the old one and install the little red one. But the OEM one is already a solid bushing, it's a soft-solid bushing.. but still the amount of play is minimal.

Correct, and the small one goes in the small end of the 'dogbone' linkage.

I will jack the car up in a couple of days when i do my oil, and retension the links, incase there has been any bedding in...

NokturnalMCS - it might be worth checking this also, wouldn't want the mount to come loose! imagine the damage!
