K&N the worlds leading air filter manufacturer of performance air filters and induction kits now bring you a new addition to their range, Apollo direct fit kits are a range of closed air induction kits.

The Apollos specially designed shape increases volumetric efficiency and is made of durable lightweight material for cooler air intake. The Apollo incorporates a K&N famous cotton gauze filter which is removable for periodic cleaning and provides the benefits of an open cone filter and standard air box in one unit. Heat build up is reduced which keeps the intake charge cool. Smooth internal features minimize air turbulence and maximize air flow.

The kit for the Mini Cooper S features an Apollo CIS unit & the kit has been specially designed for this application. The filter not only improves efficiency but improves the sound of the engine. All brackets and clamps required for installation are included in the kit. The kit contains multi-lingual photographic installation instructions and as with all K&N products the kit is backed by the unique K&N Million Mile Warranty.

Performance increase: 18bhp @ 5900rpm*
(Graph shows Wheel horsepower figures as tested on Mainline AWD 1600 Dynamometer.)

* Test results only apply to vehicle tested; all vehicles will perform differently.
* K&N can not guarantee performance gains on non standard vehicles.

looks about on par with all the other intakes. 18hp is probably really 10-12whp. It seems expensive for how little it comes with.

I think it's 57i kit, which is international availability only. It doesn't come up on K&N's site anymore which makes me think it was a mistake initially.

If it is a Euro-spec kit, then it wouldn't accomodate the MAF (and it does have a long hose in one of the pictures I have seen).
