Got any Dinan badges on your car yet? That should add some hp...

Define your goals about "more hp":

Do you want maximum HP at the expense of drivability?
Do you mind doing (or having others do) internal engine work (cam/heads)?
Have you ruled out N20?
What is your budget?

as the saying goes, "hp costs money. how fast do you want to go?" the next step is the big one......heads, cam, header, flywheel, clutch, header, cat-back. there isn't much in between that will make a significant difference.

Set the budget first, then go from there.

I would get you some Jesus.... which still hasnt been completely harnessed.... also, the rotrex should be out soon... and will be quite the kick in the pants.... or go turbo only...

while an E46 is nice the E36 is way better... for a driver.. the 46 is fat... and honestly niether are that fast..

How about weight? Are you willing to put your car on a diet and lose some fat?

Remove back seats, shave rear wiper, light weight wheels, etc, etc...

They won't help you with accumulating more power, but it'll help you move a little faster and be a little more nimble. I love how mine feels now, plus I think I've increased my MPG a bit

How about this car. It's my brothers car. It sure is fast :D

But to the topic, I would suggest Headers, cams, & port/polished head. Depends on what you want to spend i guess. I would call your local tuner and see what they say.

Yes, it's all depending on your budget. Come up with the number, call tuners (2 or 3) and inform them of your budget and you goal. Let them give you the details of what they will and can do for your MINI and go for the one that you feel comfortable with.

Then keep a good relationship with them, built the trust, become their friend, cause they will be the one who will take care of your MINI and you're going to see them for quite sometimes.

There is no question that you have not spent enough money. I am sure there are any number of vendors that will be more than glad to tell you how to alleviate this lack-of-cash-outflow situation to help your lack-of-HP problem.

an estimated 500 hp not too bad... bet that's fun... especially with RWD!

Nick... the biggest point that some have made which is key to all of this... what's your budget?... LOL.. you are at that point that I was way back when... all the little stuff that is relatively cheap is gone... time for the big time spending now!

A quality ported head with larger valves, Shrick cam and custom dyno toon. That should be good for about 30 HP.

Good luck with that...if that's really they case then you limit your options to just about zero for getting more HP.

The people on youtube says he sped up the video. I don't think he did, I was there watching him.

1. To the topic, How much are you willing to spend?
2. Do you want to keep your warranty intact?

If your willing to spend thousands & don't care about the warranty, I would get a twincharge kit or turbo only kit.
If your willing to spend thousands & care about the warranty, I wouldn't proceed further until your current warranty expires.

Hands down the easiest way to get more bang for the buck is to reduce the weight of the car. Take out the rear seats. Get a lighter battery. Start removing sound deadining.

Also, removing weight from things that spin will make a big difference to. I think the ratio is - Removing 1lb from something that spins is the same as removing 10lbs from the car. So a lightweight flywheel, clutch and lighter wheel/tire combos will make a huge difference.

ha ha kewl stuff man.. thanks for the share.. yeah it's always funny how when cars are fast it looks fake... or animated in some way... what's it run in the quarter.. I know it's not a drag car.. I am looking for trap speed... since it's an estimated 500 HP this can calculate it with more accuracy... my most recent is 127 MPH car weighs alittle over 2800 about with me in it... and yes driving it is just like that video.. hard to imagine.. but fun as hell!

Get a head!

other than that, your stuck pretty close to where you are, nitrous not withstanding....

But really, get a head to open up the motor. All the stuff on the car will do that much more.

That video is definitely sped up... I've driven that track a few times & even though I'm sure his car is very fast, the speed he's running doesn't look correct. The straights are longer than that & some of those corners not nearly that quick. I've been through them in several different cars. The video shows speeds like you'd have in a prototype car not a street based GT. Look at the video time counter, and near as I can tell he cut around a 1:10-1:15 lap time. That beats the last lap record I recall being set by an ALMS prototype Audi R8! I doubt that his car is that fast... nice car, but let's get real.

If you pay attention to some of the talking going on, it sounds sped up a little bit too. Almost like Alvin & the chipmunks were talking

Cool car non the less though...
