Thats a lame excuse. They did not waste any time posting the first few posts. If they are not ready for the MINI market they should have not have posted until they were.

It'll take submerging your car to dump enough water into the filter to matter, and at that point I'd think you'll have more pressing issues to worry about.

Keep in mind that any water will go through a nice hot turbo, so you're going to end up with a nice water injection system. There's no need to worry about water getting on the filter or into the engine. It may actually give you a nice power bump, in fact!

So now having a bit of forced cold air to the intake filter is a bad idea. Looks like we should get together with DDM and Groupe M and tell them the bad news

Nice move Randy, way to take things out of context.

A bit of forced cold air on the intake air filter isn't a bad idea... NEVER said it was? WHy are you putting words in my mouth and trying to start an argument?

Spending an excessive amount to time and money getting cold air to the intake filter of a turbo charged car with an intercooler is pretty much a waste of time. Show me the differnce in numbers with your system vs's another and i will be quite... but... since that will either A. Never happen, or B you will do the test and find that the differnece is so insignificant to spend extra money and more importantly time trying to acheieve a ram air effect on a turbo car is well... not the best use of time or money. see my other thread about ram air on a turbo car being similar to peeing in the ocean

Thank you for your continuing condsending and elitest attitude when someone challenges your "expertise"

My " bad " When i saw this ,

" also... good luck with the ram air on a turbo car... "

It seemed as if you were saying that ram air might not work with a turbo car. Maybe you just picked the wrong smiley face I did not know you were agreeing with us. Also the ram air thing is way over played. Yes there is some inward pressure from the open scoop but we are more concerned with getting cool air into the chamber not the " ram " effect. Cool air is not as important with a turbo as a non turbo but the more dense ( cool ) the incoming air is the better it is for performance in every case . As you can see by at least two other Mfg.s we are not alone in this regard. You also mention the importance of a good intercooler and we will offer an upgrade in that area shortly. Thanks for the bump

Dont forget to tell Groupe M that there Carbon fiber is too fragile and may break with opening and closing the hood like stated earlier while you are at it! again... thanks for the elitist attitude!

ohh ya... and thanks for agreeing with me that the ram air does practically nothing. it took years! afterall this concept is the same with the supercharged car and the ags. Even tuls told you this years ago... but no one cared because you are M7...that and you didn't want them to.

but now that you have "seen the light" after me telling you that it does very little and is the equivelent of peeing in the ocean... you might want to change the names of your misleading prodcuts like "RAM scoop" etc...

I know i am going to catch a ton of flack for this... but you know what... everything that i am stating is true. Sure, it sounds like i am insulting M7 but it just facts people and i am standing up for people who shouldn't be mislead by marketing people

Based on our last conversation with the Unichip folks they are planning on releasing it around the time of the SEMA show which is the end of Oct. If that changes I will post up the info ASAP.

As long as the chip is out at the end of this auto x season I'll be happy. I'm staying stock until the season is over.
