Actually it may be more like V3+ LOL . We had hoped to have this completed by the MIM event some time ago but kept finding subtle changes which have all been incorporated into this version. Lets just say that our mold maker is as relieved as we are . If anyone in the SO Cal area wants to see it in person and come take a ride this sunday give me a call and I will give you the details.

Does the intake provide any HP gains that can be quantified? I am sure its difficult to show the ram air effect on a Dyno. Does the R56 really need that much air?

Thanks!

Our car has been tested with both stock air-filter system and also a large
K&N pleated air filter combined with the removal of the hoodscoop plate.
Underhood temps has been reported elsewhere to be fairly benign and
"not to bad", the reallity is far from that with temperature deltas reaching beyond 50ºF..... To put this in perspective, drive your car during a 90 degree day and then do the same test during a 40 degree day.

The AGS-R will always give you ambient temps no matter what and the ram effect from the air column can not be discounted as a performance enhancer either.

During testing we put the car through some harsh hot enviroments.
This includes track testing, canyon runs etc. and with that we had a very surprising problem all stemming from heat...check this out.

well I hope I wasn't being too disruptive... I was just throwing in some humor... not to make fun but to have fun...

Peter.. I am really impressed with this design... If I had an R56... I'd take one in carbon! LOL but no filter needed thanks! I wanna hear that baby spool!

We distributed the Plasma Booster for a couple of years but it is now being sold by Mini Mania . It was not our design but a product from Ignition Solutions http://www.ignitionsolutions.com/
and has been successful in the BMW world for years. It was something I bought before I joined M7 and still have it on the car Nice little ignition upgrade and well worth having if only for the smoother ignition .You can find out more here with dyno plots and customer feedback:

I'm not sure of the color offerings but you could check with Mini Mania. Our version came in basic black. Now lets get back to the thread topic if we can which was about the Unichip as I recall.

Yes, back to the Unichip. How come a "tuning" company needs someone else to install the products they are selling? And why is it being identified as an M7 product in the original post:

Recently, we’ve been testing a couple of new M7 products that are soon to hit the market. They both have undergone the basic dyno test, but we also subjected the two to real world speed testing.
The first product is custom tuning software from Unichip.

Last time around they had Webb test it out - so I don't think this is too surprising.

I just looked at the original post - unless it was edited, I think it was correctly identified as a Unichip product - no?

As with all of our products we try to go to the best possible source whenever we can and with the preliminary results we have seen so far the Unichip is working well with the R-56. With over 55 line items not including the upcoming R-56 selections we continue to search out those manufacturers that can provide the best possible products to the market. We then work with them combining their experience with our ideas to come up with something we are proud to put our name on . Our philosophy is to use the best minds in the business to translate our thoughts into products that will be appeal to many of you. Some items have more of " their " input and some have more of " ours " but the bottom line is a good partnership where the consumer will benefit. You don't need to be a engineer yourself if you have many working for you For those of you that thought we were making everything at home on the kitchen table , sorry to dissapoint LOL . In addition to the other vendors products that we carry on our site already such as DDM and H-Sport we we will adding products from other vendors on our site to make more of a one stop shop for you all. Thanks for all the posts it's helping more than you know

That is a well thought out and edited statement.
But I am also trained in the arts of The Dark Side.
And I have a message for you from my master:

Thanks for the compliment but if it was that well thought out I would have taken the time to spell correctly . As it was I had to go back and change two errors. I know they are tough on that in here.
