I think that Roland will sell it to you but the pound rate really sucks for the US folks right now.

juaclark: Thank you for considering our pulley. I certainly won't debate our difference in opinion on the lock washers vs. locker compound, but you can use it instead or in addition to as well. Also, our V1 (we call it classic) is still available and might be a better choice for you.

Our V2 is black and if the logo plate is left off, may be slightly more stealthy at the dealer.

You also mentioned balance. Our pulleys are balanced! And to such degree as to exceed that used in most professional engine builders setups. So that we have you covered on. (This is only on the V2 not the classic.)

Any hoo, if you have any other questions or concerns PLEASE feel free to direct them to me. I am happy to help with your decision even if you choose a competitive part over mine. My goal is to have you be happy with your hard earned money being spent the right way the first time.

Good luck! You will love the new power no matter what!

Thanks!

So, what are the differences in Air / Fuel Ratios before and after the 15% pulley?

I haven't found that info yet in my searches.

Thanks.

I think I recall reading something about going from 12 to 11....whatever that means. Don't quote me on this.

PULLEY WEIGHT
Rotational weight is a critical factor that impacts supercharger performance. Other pullies on the market that are made of stainless steel weigh more than the stock pulley! This directly affects how fast the supercharger reaches full boost. Madness pullies weigh less than half the weight while maintaining excellent reliability.

Stock MINI Pulley = 11.0oz/311g
Stainless steel 15% pulley = 16.0oz/501g
Stainless steel 19% pulley = 13.2oz/374g

Madness lightweight 15% pulley = 5.5oz/155g
Madness lightweight 19% pulley = 5.0oz/125g

ALIGNMENT

Our self alignment pulley ensures 100% accuracy during pulley installation ensuring no thrown belts from improper installation.

For something with as small a diameter as a supercharger pulley, the rotational mass is less important than on your tires and wheels, for example. In terms of 10 ounces in something that small making a difference, it would probably be in the realm of hundreths of a second. For example, spin a golf ball and a ping-pong ball on a table with your hand, and tell me how much more effort and time it takes to accelerate the golf ball compared to the ping-pong ball and if it's really that noticeable.

I'm sure someone with the time and willingness to do so can compare the time lag associated with a pulley that weighs 16 ounces verses one that weighs 6 ounces with the same force applied to it to give a more scientific analysis. But until I see some physics and math used to determine that a small diameter supercharger pulley is so negatively affected by excess mass, I'm not going to use that as a basis for making my purchase.

Will a pulley with lighter mass be easier to spin? Certainly. Is it enough to make a noticeable difference? Remains to be seen...

If rotational mass mattered on something that small and light, might as well spend the $500 and get the Uber pulley..

I'm also considering a pulley and one of the factors for me (because I'm going to do the install myself) is which of the brands offer the free use of a pulley puller. From what I've found Webb and Cravenspeed do but I'm not sure who else does.

I have the M7 pulley, and I've never had a problem with it. I love it because it's 16%, right in the middle of 15 and 17. Seemed perfect for me....plus I like the build quality, the logo, the company, and the holes with slots for air to cool the pulley down (I don't know if that actually works or not).

I heard the 15% Palo Uber titanium pulley will produce 21 hp,make your MINI fly through the air, and candycorn will come out of your exhaust, hence the claim for producing "a significant ultra high performance product unimagined by other component companies."

Totally worth the $798.97, if you're into candycorn.

Sadly, I hate candy corn.

I am very pleased with the product and service from Helix. I run their 15% pulley and SSK. I liked the 6 bolt, even thought I doubt it does much more than a 4 bolt. Eric is local to me, and I met him once before the MINIs hit our shores - very cool guy.

I am sure that most of the big names will give similar results - webb, alta, etc. I have no true brand loyalty - just try to pick the best overall item for each part I put on my MINI.

Also - make sure to get a small enough belt. I "think" I put a JCW on with my 15%. After doing some research it looks like it is not small enough! (can't see any of the "holes" on the tensioner!) I can't remember if it was like that when I installed or not - but I do have a NAPA 060535 belt in the garage to put on ASAP....

good luck!

I ended up putting on a gatorback belt to prevent some slipping on my 15%, even after a JCW belt.

Candy corn is the missing element discarded by the German engineers for cost containment.

I almost bought it, but I decided last minute I wanted to put the money towards my solid gold brake rotors.
