Question regarding warranty and boost gauge

Does anybody know if Installing a boost gauge would void my warrenty. I have been researching install instructions and considering doing myself. If it does void it I might just have the dealer do it. Any thoughts on this?

just because a dealer installs something, does not mean they have to honor the warranty if a problem was to arise.

As mentioned above, it depends entirely on your dealer. Mine did a cyl head replacement (under warranty) on my last MINI, with the boost gauge installed (by me). They even suggested a better vac line routing!

According to our zone rep (former factory field engineer) the best place to tap the gauge is to the short vac line at the BPV. And don't just cut and tap, remove a section equal in length to the tee so you don't add length to the line. Keep all vac line runs as short as possible.
That's what I was told, anyway.
