Very hard shifting on 2002 Mini Cooper S

My mini has 43,000 miler and first the shift linkage squeaked and now (2 days later) it hardly moves.
Anybody had this problem and how/where do you lubricate the linkage??

Sorry if this comes off as brusque. =) As for your problem itself, I have no real idea. If it seized up that quickly, I would suspect other issues. 43,000 miles is low though for either clutch or synchro problems though (unless you're a terrible stick driver, or you live in San Francisco =P), so I truly don't know what it could be.
