Does anyone know if there are fitment issues with alta's intercooler diverter sprayer when used on an MCSa '05??

Doesn't fit. Neither does the alta intercooler v2. The V1 kinda fits but the air flow seems to hit the front of the intercooler.

Pardon my doubt, but why not? I've had both MCS and MCSa and I really don't see a difference on the topside of the engine.

Because of the auto tranny it pushes the motor up, from what I have heard 1/2" or so, causing aftermarket coolers to hit the hood.

Thanks, Mario; that must be why I only see the front edge of the IC
when looking thru the scoop. Doesn't seem too efficient, does it?

I was afraid the references to the auotomatic sitting higher were an issue.Does this mean I can no longer lust for a M7 DFIC Intercooler?Let it not be so!

The auto engine is definitely higher up. There was a thread about someone with an auto having issues with the diverter. He said he had raised 'dents' in his bonnet. Yikes!

Take care of the issue, go to a water to air intercooler. That 's whats on mine and it works just fine.

It doesn't fit as it comes as others said the engine sits up higher. On my car it caused some bumps to push up in my bonnet because I didn't realize this at first. Since I had the bumps I went ahead and shaved about 1/8" off of the diverter so that it fit.

A water to air intercooler is in a whole different league than a IC diverter!

Ummmm...I have the ALTA air diverter on my '06 MCSa and it works fine. It's been on for over a year now.

There is a reinforced rubber gasket around the diverter. Whenever you raise the bonnet, push down on the gasket to reseat it before closing the bonnet and you should have no problems.

Hmmm.... conflicting first had experiences. I hate this stuff.

Recent experiences? Seems like, worst case, you could trim down the height of the vertical diverter "walls" a bit, the replace the seals... right?
