Looks beautiful Doug...can't wait to try this out...

This one was turned for me years ago by a (now late) friend for my Nissan Maxima.

Wonder if Doug could adapt it to use one of his attachment collars? Hmmmm....

If the diameter is large enough that I can bore a 1" hole into it, for the collar to fit up into; sure!

That black derlin looks amazing. how's the weight on those v.s. Al, v.s. Stainless? Also could someone powder coat an Al one black? Both shifters look amazing. Thanks.

I haven't decided on a price for the Delrin ones yet; or the aluminum, for that matter.
I'll come up with something soon, though.

I don't know much about powdercoating. You'd have to check with a shop about that.

Anodizing would be feasible. From my limited experience, it's pretty expensive in small quantities.

How about weight? I thought a big plus to the "original" whelen shift machine was how heavy it was (helped smooth the shifting). Will these be comparable? Thanks!

I got it today But I gotta send it back for fine tuning...I'm going to have Doug shorten the cylinder body by 15mm...it's a bit too tall even for my size large hands...patience is a virtue...repeat...

The current weight according to Doug is 11oz...plenty heavy but I don't mind shortening/lightening it for better ergonomics...

Nope; not at all. I just weighed the Nylon one; it's right at 5.5 ounces.

These are just for people who want the feel of the handle-type shifter.

Misfitoy, did you by any chance install it and take pictures or did you just open the box and decide to have it modified?

OH YEAH!!! I played with it for the night and let me say...THIS IS JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!! Shifting is so much more precise now that I'm actually shifting much, much quicker...imagine shooting a pistol with a ball grip as opposed to a pistol grip...makes all the difference in the world to me...

I hate to send this back for refinements but the sooner I do it, the sooner I get to enjoy this enhancement again...

Not sure I understand the question. Cheaper than WHICH ball-shaped aluminum *****?

Delrin, whether black or white (its natural color) is very inexpensive, and extremely easy to machine.
Type 6061 aluminum is a little more expensive than Delrin, but also very easy to machine.

Hopefully Doug will be able to get on the modification today and if all goes well, maybe I'll get it back before the weekend...thank God he's close by in Illinois...I just can't go back to the ball now that I've experienced the new grip...
