if the tab on the end of the belt tensioner spring is broke can i get a tensioner stop from aftermarket and still run with the broke tab? would the aftermarket piece be doing essentially the same job?

Are you talking about the tab you use to lock the tensioner when changing the belt?

at the very end of the spring steel , there is a small factory tab ; very flimsy .i think it's the factories attempt at a stop. after some thought (panick attack all done ) i think it'll be fine but an aftermarket stop is gonna be needed in case of a belt failure . any other than my mini ?

Yea, make your own.
Go to your local marine supply, and get the stainless ends with a 5/16" eye that can be crimped onto a piece of stainless cable. I found my pieces at this little marine store and crimped them at my friends shop with a hydraulic press. I had the mymini one, and could not get it to stop rattling.
