2550 miles on new clutch, DEAD!

I have been having a blast since I got my car back and had the ECU tuned. Well, about an hour a go I was driving about 30mph when all of sudden the car wouldn't go into any gear and the clutch was super soft and too the floor. I pumped the clutch some, about 10 times and the problem went away. The clutch grabs very strong and I broke it in very slow for the first 1000 miles. I was wondering whats up and is the clutch and brake fluid shared? Also I have a metal rattling sound but it I think it has to do with my new Borla exhaust I just installed yesterday.

BTW 3.0" Alta exhaust for sale (offers)
Mario

Sounds similar to the issue Blake (ThumperMCS) was having. It was diagnosed as a pressure plate failure and the entire clutch/pressure plate/clutch release bearing system was replaced under warranty.

It could also have something to do with the slave cyl seals failing.

And yes, the clutch system and brakes share the same fluid.

How was Bimmerfest? Sorry I left so early, just boring as all hell there by myself. Did you see the bright purple 7 Series on 21's or 22's? . I was rolling on the floor.

We all stayed for about 2 hours and then we were burnt out. It was too much to see and after awhile all the 500hp M3's start looking the same. The 745i was sitting on 24" and hot pink. yuk! but I couldn't look away.
The best car was an old 1974 BMW 2002 with and E46 M3 motor and twin turbo.
Do you think that rattling sound is from my new exhaust for the clutch?

Yea, that 02 twin turbo was nuts. The transmission was mounted halfway back behind the front axel! I believe it was an S50 Twin turbo (so E36 M3) not that it makes much of a difference... that car weighs nothing. It's like throwing an M3 engine into our MINI's .

I have no idea on the exhaust rattle. If you can get it up on a lift check to make sure nothing's near any metal that could be rattling. You may wanna start the car up while it's on the lift to try and see where it's coming from. I had a nasty idle rattle that I traced to my header bolt being sort of loose. We double nutted the bolt and all seems to be well since. I've never heard of a clutch rattling before .

As for the random Pink 745i, I have no idea how someone could drive around in a car like that and not feel like everyone on the road is staring at them, i'd be beyond embarressed. I didn't even get a chance to look at it up close, I just saw the rims when it was pulling in and did a double take . More and more rice is showing up to these shows every year. It's sad, people used to mod tastefully, now the old bimmers are turning into the civics of yester-year.

The red active autowerks M3 with 1k HP was a friend of Danny's, we were trying to figure out how you'd put 1k HP to the ground, even in an E46 .

Is there anything going on tomorrow? Cruises? Anything? I think the Malibu SCMM meet was today .
