Need help finding OEM part #s

Hello ...
I have seen some MCS (maybe MC) owners adding the front "frame to strut tower" brace that is OEM on a Cabrio to the MCS.

I have searched the threads and my ETK and 2 dealers but can't find the part #s.

If you can give me any info I would be very thankful

I tried to find that before for a buddy, with no luck. RealOEM does show the part in the schematics, but does not offer the part number.

P.S. My personal feeling is that while it is needed on a 'vert, it is a waste for a tin top. And I do own both.

Here's the RealOEM listing, which also has a few other parts related to the cabrio: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...93&hg=51&fg=80

Brian, I forgot what year your MINI is, but the 2005 and later have the holes drilled and tapped for these. They went right on my 2005, but I am looking into drilling and doing inserts for Brad's 2003. These have become so popular, we now stock them and have installed them on a bunch of MidCal MINIs.

Total weight including bolts is just short of a pound.

I have these on my car they might weight 1LBS for the two of them total. Its worth doing if you have an 05 od newer. Might be worth it if you have an 02-04 if you don't mind drilling and moding a little bit.

Congrats on 2000 post steve

Thanks for the fast replies!

But, 1 pound for this?

Ah, part #7... I was wondering about the under-bracing....

Tony, it's number 4, number 7 is the bolt. (not meaning to nit-pick or anything.)

Gotcha. I should have read the first post better... I saw the image of the under-bracing which had always intrigued me...

I was also wondering about that this afternoon when I looked at the pic. I may have to experiment with those.

Those back pieces are what causes convertible exhausts to be different. I don't know how much they weigh, but they seem pretty sturdy when I've seen them.

Gee Brian, wonder where you saw 'em....
My car is a 10/03 build and had the pre-drilled/tapped holes.
