SCCA @ Monticello, September 24th

SCCA is the host for this track day at Monticello on Friday, September 24th. They are running the full 4+ mile circuit. This track won't be available to groups like this next year. You'll have to pony up something like 25K to get access, so if you've never run this track you should make it a priority. If you've run this track before, you know how challenging it is. It can be lots of fun, too, if driven properly. Right now registration is very light, with only 3 MINI's on the books. Let's try to make this another multiple MINI track day like we had in May. Cost??? Cheap!! $250 for the whole day, and $15 more if you are not a current SCCA member.

Who's up for it?

I'll be happy to write you a Doctor's note! I think S-Driver's wallet is still recovering from his ECU transplant. Claymore is coming up in October for Lime Rock. We'll work on Neil at his party in a couple of weekends.

Can you write up a stack of those Doctor's certs for me. Do you have something other a vet clinic cert.

I would like to use them everytime I need a track day stress relief.

Since you are such an animal on the track, a note from a vet will be perfect for you. I'll write a stack of 'em for you on our road trip tomorrow. That means we can count on you for this event, right?

Yup....and having to buy a new refrigderator as well! $250 is cheap and hard to resist (and I have that whole week off) but I'll skip it in favor of G52 @ The Glen in October..

Maybe I'll come over and watch.

s-driver, you don't need a fridge, you need go faster car parts.

How much track time do you get at scca?

I think S-Driver has enough go faster parts already. If he adds any more, he'll lap me three times over 20 minutes instead of just two.

I'm doing two days at NJMP the week before. Don't think I can make it. For anyone who hasn't done Monticello, you should while you can. It's a treat.

I hope to. It's been a frustrating year. I don't plan as many events as you and slinger, and I had to cancel two planned events at the last minute including two days at WGI.

It's been frustrating for us, too. We've both had more than our fair share of car issues.

Yes, I believe he means SCDA Slinger....

I'll be at Thunderbolt this weekend helping out an ARCA team, crewing/spotting. Should be fun! Found a Day's Inn in Vineland, NJ for $52/night for the Sept event we're all going to. I'm staying there on Saturday night so I'll see how it is before I book for September. Looks nice on the web but we'll see..

I just found the same place on hotels.com as well. Looks clean enough. And the price is right.

I may stay in Atlantic City before day 1 to try my luck at getting to retirement again. Found a good room in Absecon for $22. Stayed there last year and it was fine.

Sorry to the op for the thread hijack. It suddenly turned into a SCDA NJMP thread.

GKP, when are you heading down?

My car is back from all the work that had to be done to it. Fixed the CV joint, CV boot, Coils and BBK. I want to get out to the track.

Got the correct track pads for those big calipers? Can't wait to see them in action next month!

This place sucked!! Now I know why it was only $51.99 per night...

Wall paper coming off the walls, floor was rippely, bathroom door was falling off the hinges. It was the old part of the hotel, not updated from ever - and not what you see in the photo's. But there is a newer better section of the hotel (what you see when driving up) but for more $$$.
