In-car videos with guage overlay

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted. But I thought you might be interested in some track videos I put together from my last two track events.

This is my first attempt at creating a guage-overlay of the data gathered from the G2X with the videos. Unfortunately, these are not my best laps for the weekends (or the most interesting). For various technical reasons, these are the only runs where I could line up the video & data properly. But I know what to do now & will have some much better videos next time.

I'm also still waiting on some video conversion software for the Mac that's about to come out. That will improve the quality of the video dramatically and make it much easier for me to make these.

BTW, I'm working on a Mini-style guage cluster for the overlay...of course!

p.s. if these links don't work, you can also just go to video.google.com and do a search for works4me

The first one is at the Motorsports Ranch Houston from a TDE driver training event:

The other two are also TDE events at the TWS going clockwise. The second one is a rear-view camera, and is my best lap of the two. It looks black-and-white because the camera was actually overheating sitting out in the sun all day...

FYI: before anyone comments on the last video, the first lap was a non-passing lap under Yellow. As far as the Gray Corvette behind me on the second/third laps, I sat on his tail the *entire* previous run and he never let me pass. And right after this video ends, I let him pass, but then ended up sitting on his tail again the entire rest of this run...sigh.

Very nice, I like it. Watching those will help improve your driving, no doubt. (not that there's anything wrong with your driving)

I'll have to check out trackvision.
