MCSA is slower... they may yield better times than MCS because MCS drivers aren't up to skills.. not that the auto is faster..
There is less drive train loss with the automatic because the transmission is build into the engine. On top of that there are quite a few transmissions now that can actually shift faster than humanly possible, however I don't know if that is the case with the R56 MCSa.
Nah, usually the auto is losing more energy because it is connected to the flywheel through a torque converter, instead of a clutch. My guess on why it is faster is because you can launch the car after having already built boost with the auto. In addition to this, you do not lose boost when shifting, because you do not lift. That is probably enough to account for the differences in their times.
