Not at all Big Howe, you're tough nut to crack but it'll be worth it when I do

A lot of people didn't "get it" over here but they do now

Dooh I forgot about that, must be getting old becasuse I forgot that I've got to be up early to go to Donnington with a RMW headed car to se if can go round corners on that Cross suspension.

My apologies, might get something written tomorrow when I'm bored watching these Mini's go round and round

You pair of dumb asses;

I know Eric is going to post more about this as I have to head to NY today and will be back to tune in the morning. Its been some very long nights again and I first off want to thank everyone for having the patience as we have had a very tough time with the dyno.

I think the average quitting time has been 11:30pm!!!!

The reason we are seeing wide variances as we tried to calibrate the dyno more to what you see on a dynapack. We ended up going back to the older calibrations (hence why most of the latest dyno's are much lower) to try and ease some of the dyno issues. Eric was nice enough to drop the money to get parts here overnight to save the day. I have had a great time meeting all of you and looking forward to meeting the rest of you next week.

Late into the night last night we finally got the dyno running much more consistent and we hope to get the cars out much much faster. Again, please accept my apology for having to wait all day to get your tune done.

I will try and get back to people as fast as I can, I know my pm box is almost full and have over 200 emails to get back to. Thanks for being patient and understanding

you are not answering the questions
it's so simple yet it seems so difficult to you

answer how a 199whp dynapack Mini can run 13.8 on street tires but a 253whp Mini can't by your standards.....

amazingly simple... yet you fail to answer the question

Not at all really, the car would have a higher terminal (mph) at the 1/8 if it weighed exactly the same as Jason's Mini. (see spreadsheet)

I've obviously guessed big howe's conv and his weight, dont forget this is using the data from an Infinti G35 mph/weight for the top list and Jasonmf mph/weight for the bottom list.

Unfortunatley I dont know who 253man is, have you or has he posted his dyno sheet?

I presumed you were talking about fullcollapse40,as I think he did, my apologies.

(cant bloody sleep)

Paul..... pay attention

253whp was done on the same dyno as Jason's

since your formula doesn't work on Jason's car... what would make you think your reverse engineering on Big Howes car is good?

it's already been an hr and 15min and not one..... NOT ONE person has downloaded your xls sheet....

what does that tell you about what people really think about your formula?

I am the one view so far, and I'm confused. I'm not sure what point or relevant data is trying to be conveyed pertinent to the discussion.

yeah and 253whp would yield him a faster mph at the same weight as Jason's, unless the dynapack rely's on the operator typing in the correct inputs what can go wrong?

Really easy to understand isnt it I mean Jake understands it and he's 8, but then again he can change an axle as well at the track, do a compression test after a run........................

I think I might see if he knows how to read a camshaft next

Its quite easy Big Howe, Jason has had his car dyno'd at 199 HUB horsepower and run an 1/8th mph of 79.87mph if Mr 253 Hub horsepower was in the next lane with Jason his car would run 86.53 mph if he weighed exactly the same as Jason.

If you went on the same dyno you would make 233 Hub horsepower.

So in conclusion Jason and Mr 253 has got one strong puppy.

A bit like Tuls could keep with guys who had 15% even though his was stock.

My turn to ask a few questions (not directed at any one person):

Back in post 91 I asked the question about wheel hp vs hub HP....obviously there are some feelings that they do differ. What sort of % are we talking? We assume something like 15% loss for WHP, what do we assume for Hub HP? My wild guess is maybe 1 or 2% less loss, seems like most of the friction losses are in the bearings/ and gears, with no a whole lot of loss in the tires themselves.

Additionally, I'm not exactly sure what the SAE correction factor is for my dyno numbers, but I'm assuming this corrects the numbers to be at some standard temperature and pressure. Now, what happens when I make my 1/4 mile pass under better conditions? (mid 40's F and with a intercooler that was chilled on ice prior to the run). What are these standard conditions that are corrected for?

Obviously, if I would've dyno'ed with these cooler conditions I could've put down more power (ignoring correction factors...). Temp seems to be such a HUGE variable with my car, the same night I ran my 13.8, my MPH ranged from 98.x to 100.3 depending on how much time I had to cool things down before I ran. If I would've ran the 1/4 mile the same afternoon as my tune (mid to upper 80s F I think), there is no way I would've pulled off a 13.8x.

I could send him a video but 135 mph on the back straight at Mid Ohio
won't mean much to him, it's longer than a quarter mile
