ok... here is another place for you to use your performance calculator...

let's spin this one

copied from Eurotuner challenge
someone dropped this to me the other day... had no idea this one happened

so by your theory of 415whp on the dyno and a trap speed of only 107mph figure this one out Paul

QUARTER-MILE COMPETITION FWD 1. VF-Engineering/GIAC 13.31 @ 117.28mph 2. Stasis Engineering 13.52 @ 110.39mph 3. ABD Racing 13.77 @ 110.82mph 4. WRD 13.86 @ 105.64mph 5. Mini-Madness 13.92 @ 102.28mph 6. Euro Sport Accessories 14.39 @ 96.46mph 7. Fireballed! Racing 15.32 @ 107.66mph For those wanting to see the article you can access it here also.

Seems to be a recurring theme. Black widow sucks a valve(in front of the mag staff no less) drag car is sucking valves, Bob's racer sucks a valve. Gotta finish to place. Turbo car may not be that reliable, eh?

Paul,

As soon as I get a chance to visit the drag strip, I'll post my numbers.

The closest strip is about 2.5 hours from me, and the next test and tune conflicts with an autocross I've already registered for.

Looks like it'll be mid January before a 1/4 track is having a test and tune that I can attend.

Just out of curiosity Paul, who is the salesman and who is the racer?

Also, an interesting thought experiment for those disposed to try them.

A) If a car is capable of a maximum of 0.5 G acceleration for a particular tire/track combination, what is the maximum speed that car is capable of reaching in 660ft? (Hint, assume constant acceleration)

B) Now, how much torque does a car need, assuming a single gear ratio of 5:1 and a flat torque curve, (call it electric), an effective tire height of 24" and a weight of 2500 lbs to achieve that level of acceleration (ignore aero)?

Now, the bonus question, how much faster will the car go if you increase the torque calculated in part B by 20%?

Ah, sorry Shawn, I can see how you would read that now.

Jokingly;

Salesman = Jan
Racer = Me

Sounds like we'll both have some times to post up come mid January then!

Of course, they won't be anywhere close to each other, but it'll be nice to see what my slushbox will do in the 1/4 mile.

Hey nice... that's scooting pretty good, especially with that 60' time!

Of course, unfair as you're in Puerto Rico... you guys are always setting records over there, especially with the imports!

Must be something in the gas huh?

I was using Shell Defenda 93 octanes, the problema I have that my car spin too much wheels on the track even with my 215/45 Toyo T1R, I am planning to go to a better track on the south of the island. I am also looking some Nitto NT01.

I am running between 18 and 20 psi with Alta pnp.
