OctaneGuy's Plastic Trim Sauce--almost there!
we're just experimenting these new products and sharing experiences
and thoughts... and just having fun.
Everyone who has posted their interest on this thread--I have reserved one (or however many you specified) for you at MOTD.
As for Defylogik--My gel won't replace your 303 product. It has it's strengths and its limitations. I designed it to really do one thing well and that was to provide a long lasting darkness to the exterior plastics on the MINI. It continues to bead water for months, and with it's built in cleaners, it remove heavily caked on wax/polish residue without too much effort, even with years of time for them to dry.
Maintenance is as simple as wiping it down with a wet towel everytime you wash. You can wash the trim with your car wash soap as well, and you won't have to reapply.
Here's some trim in fairly good condition with a masking tape divider line showing the darker side with my gel and the untreated side.

Immediately sprayed with water

Wiped dry with waffle weave towel

From a different angle

I will take one, Richard.
I'll have to order it the conventional way as I can't make it to the Dragon this year.
Is it just me, or does this Aero bumper have the trim painted gloss black?

The owner of this MINI, Scott of Central Coast Coopers hadn't painted his arches yet, but his aero kit was painted. After awhile I think he decided to not paint his arches and is going to texture the aerokit instead to match the plastic. I believe he's doing all the painting as we speak or if not now, very shortly.

But then I wouldn't need your product, and I really want to try it. Seeing how well it works, I won't need to paint my trim.
I may one day paint my trim as well, but not for maintenance issues, but because I think painted arches and trim on Jet Black is pretty sexy! I'd still use the gel around the plastic trim around the top edge of the roof (rain gutters), and on the inside rubber seals of the door and window edges.
Got you down
Yes, that is my plan, unless I see them at MOTD, and they can pick it up there.
This may seem like a really dumb question, but here it goes...The vinly Scottish flag graphic on me roof is dull and cracking. Anything to make it look a little better 'til I can replace it?

My gel probably won't do a lot of good for this. If the vinyl is cracking, it's time to replace it. If it's dull, it might brighten things up a bit, but it's really not the best product for this application. 303 is probably a better match for this application.
My gel was designed for durability and longevity on exterior trim plastics. Plastic that has faded or turned white can be restored easily, but vinyl that is cracking and deteriorating needs a different solution altogether.

Yes you are on the list. I will modify post #1 in a bit with all the names I have so far.
Because this thread is about the announcement of my gel, I assumed you were referring to my product. You might want to start a new thread here in Detailing101 and repost the question.
Everybody, stay tuned for my Vendor Announcement today! I'm just processing photos and waiting for a few small technical issues before posting the announcement. You will be able to order today right here in the NAM store. Winners from the naming contest and all contestants of it should pay close attention to the announcement as there is specific info in there for you.
Finally, I'm shipping about 40 pcs of the gel to the Dragon today because I found out that alone weighs half of my luggage limit on the airlines. So for those that have requested bottles on this thread, or have prepaid and asked to pick up their bottles at MOTD in the comments section--those orders will reduce the 40 pcs to whatever is left. That means, if you're not preordering, and you are attending the MOTD and want to get it there, don't delay, otherwise, all other orders will be shipped after I return.
Richard
I don't understand this question.

i want to see you try carrying that onto the plane.

then everyone will line up at the security area and take home
free "samples."
Thanks Ken. Yes, continue to use 303 for everything else but the external trim, and replace that with my gel--if you want great looking, and long lasting protection.
