Keeping My Sanity

I think I may need to give up my Mini to keep my sanity or find a way to deal with what is becoming an obsession.

Yesterday I washed the car. The way I do it takes about three hours. Getting out the supplies, hose, etc., cleaning the tires, wheels, wheel wells, and engine compartment first, and then changing buckets and wash mitt and washing the car. After that. drying, wiping the door jams, putting treatment on the tires, Wheel Wax on the wheels, and Z6 on the paint. Also treated the black side skirts and fender moldings with a cleaner/protectant. I didn't clean the interior because I had done this on Thursday night

I put everything away and later walked back into the garage and looked at the side skirts under the car. Dirt spots. Got the cleaner stuff back out and laid on the garage floor cleaning the black skirts and jack points. While I was doing that, I noticed the mufflers and aluminum panel over the battery box were dirty. Out came the metal polish... Then I noticed the undercarriage had the same mud/dirt spatters that were on the rocker panel covers. Thinking tonight I should jack it up and clean the undercarriage...

I have never gotten this obsessed with any of my other cars. I was always one to keep everything clean, but this is getting ridiculous. I drove the Jeep to work today to keep the Mini from getting dirty again.

Maybe I should just drive the Jeep every day and keep the Mini back for sunny, dry days....

Seeking counseling from other patients at the asylum is always a good strategy for mental health.

I did the same thing, Saturday wash and whole Zaino treatment (5+ hours with multiple coats), Sunday was interior day (3+ hours) I did the whole crawl on the floor thing to do my trim pieces too.....at least I am not alone, thankfully my wife got a new car so I drive her old one for the meantime so the MINI won't get dirty, but then I miss driving it, oh my oh my

Ohhh, you are ok. I did not see you mention the portable steam cleaner yet.

Heck, if I do not get started on cleaning our Lexus IS before 10am, there is no way I will finish before the Sun goes down. That is only once a month. The other weekends of the month normally take about 4-5 hours.

When my Mini arrives, I will apply the same regimen.

Oh, and I do have a portable steam cleaning system.
