I've tried the popular ones..
Windex
Stoners Invisible Glass
Pep Boys Ccone of Stoners---can't remember the name, but I use it in my bathroom now.
Meguiar's NXT Glass Cleaner
Meguiar's Pro Detailer Glass Cleaner (Aerosol)

Never tried Sonus or Einzit glass cleaners.

Of what I've used, Clarity is better than those. My post was a reference to aiiee's post.

"I use 1Z's Scheibenklar and think it's the best. easy on easy off. Great on Computer monitors, no ammonia or other nasties. Safe on plastic, effective on glass.
Try some today!"

I've tried 1Z, Zaino's (Z-12), Sonus Vision, Windex and Clarity. I have not tried the broccoli dance.
I like Clarity best of all because I get absolutely no film, it is easy to apply and easy to remove. In fact I have started using it all over the house - TV screen, computer monitor and on and on. I usually don't even use the DP glass cloth except on my glasses.

Windex makes a "Vinegar" glass solution that has no ammonia (so it's safe for tinted windows) - it was my favorite before finding the Clarity. I hated the Stoners - for some reason I always got terrible film afterwards.

Also, it seems like I always say this, but I think this is a great tip:

Remember as well that old, used up or dropped automotive clay is awesome on glass - it gets out nearly everything on there (bugs don't stand a chance) and leaves it so slick that it beads water almost like Rain-X (without the chemicals). Best of all, used-up clay is a by-product of detailing, so it's free. If you have dots, streaks or other imperfections, clay the windows well before trying lots of chemicals - odds are it will get them sparkling clean.

Debris in used-up/dropped clay that will scratch delicate paint (shy of chunks of gravel - pull those out with a fingernail first) should not damage glass or even powder-coated rim paint. Just toss the used-up stuff in a zip-lock with some detailing spray and clearly label it "GLASS/WHEEL CLAY".

Einszett's (1Z) Scheibenklar (aka Windscreen Clear) is an excellent glass cleaner. In fact, it was hands-down my favorite across numerous brands... until we created Prima Clarity. Clarity was tested directly against the 1Z Scheibenklar during its initial R&D. We set out to exceed 1Z's glass cleaning abilities because it was our favorite glass cleaner at the time. (FYI: we used to sell 1Z products until the US importer for the company became impossible to work with... it's a great product line though)

The reason I prefer Clarity over 1Z is twofold:
1) Clarity smells like absolutely nothing while 1Z has a rather strong smell, IMO.
2) Clarity seems to work better in fewer passes of your cloth and is slightly better at being non-streaking.

I have to admit that 1Z is definitely a close runner-up to Clarity and my second place winner for glass cleaners.

Excellent...that is exactly what I wanted to hear. Autopia also discontinued 1Z for the same reasons and I've been biting my nails trying to figure out what to replace it with when I run out. Now I know.

By the way, somewhat off topic, but who came up with the great names for the Prima products?

I'm a brand person, so beyond the relative utility of the product, I'd much rather say Clarity vs. 1Z. I'm sure Zaino makes great products, but I gave up ever trying them because of their naming/numbering system... perhaps I'm just lazy.

I realize this has no relevance in terms of how the products work, but...

Epic
Nero
Clarity
Slick
Amigo
Hydro
Mystique
(oh yeah, I can't forget Monster Fluffy)

those are great product names.

Let's have a contest to suggest NEW names...
If we use up all the good ones, they'll have to pay us a royalty!!!
(Like Cisco suing Apple over iPhone - and Apple doesn't care).

OK, I'll start....

I like it... Prima Kumquat.

The naming honors go primarily to Nick. Although he runs them all past me and one of our part-timers (John, who is also good at this stuff), he is the one who thinks them up... often out of the blue in a random moment of inspiration!

We do have some new products coming out in a few months or so... maybe we will have a naming contest. That could be fun! I'll have to see if Nick already has some names picked out for the new stuff or not yet.

Actaully, Apple and Cisco have come to a reasonable conclusion through a contract to sell the rights.

I called Apple yesterday right after Jobs announcement of the iPhone to order one. They said I am the first one in America!

Too bad it doesn't come out until June

how about Prima Blast... you spray it on, don't wipe it off and then get in and it makes your MINI go even faster

or Prima Rush Hour... again you spary it on, don't wipe it off (remember, I'm lazy) and then when you hit the streets, all the other traffic disappears.

DP, can you work on those, please?

Would that be before or after 5 o'clock somewhere.

Got my Clarity this week, will see how wonderful it is this weekend. I've been hateing car windows since the late 50's. Maybe this is the holy grail of clean windows!
