Clara's First Owie

I'm sad, but not nearly as freaked-out as I would be previous to becoming so detailing-educated.

I went Christmas shopping at the mall, came back to my car and there is a small blackish "scuff" on her PW door, I'm sure from whoever was parked next to me. Jack@ss. At least it's not dented.

Anyway.

So I think I'll be able to just clay it right off...I can spot wax back over it after I'm done, right?

Yep sorry to hear that, but yeah claybar should take out any paint transfer. If there are any light scratches, your PC will take care of it, then put some wax and you'll be set.

Yes, if a different color is scratched onto your car, chances are you can remove it with scratchx and/or clay.

Too bad cars don't leave DNA like people and too bad you can't run car DNA through computers to track down their owners who do this kind of careless (or purposeful) stuff.

Hope there's nothing more than surface damage, ML ! Good luck.

Really, it's so minor that I was just annoyed more than concerned...which sort of shocked me, I thought when I got my first owie I'd be outraged. I think because I know now how to deal with it that I didn't really panic. My first thought was "Well, I'll get to try that DP clay now."

I tried to get a picture of it but it's so minor that the photo wouldn't even come out right...

Literally 15 seconds of clay just took it right off.

That would be very cool! Unique identifiers need to be injected into each batch of paint... Then all we'd need is a Car Care CSI team to track down the bad guys!

MLWagner- Shwoo! Glad to hear you got rid of the paint transfer easily and quickly. Isn't it nice knowing what tool to use and having the right tool for the job?

DNA paint ... yes, then we could find out who the real father of my MINI is.

Have any of you seen the bubble car cover? Would it be too weird to set that up each time you parked in a lot? Still I'm sure you'd find some bubba parks too close and bursts your bubble.

Glad Clara's OK but you should really think about getting her some counseling, sometimes the marks are below the surface as well.

She and I talked it over; she doesn't think they did it on purpose and with no visible scars I think she'll be okay
