Clear Bra detailing really the same?
Clear Bra detailing really the same?
My 3M pamphlet says that I should detail and wash the clear bra just like the rest of the car. Is this true? Even when it comes to using a clay bar? Octane Guy? Anyone?
I never have heard of a clay bar before. Just bought my first one (I think it's Mother's). I'm just planning on using it per the instructions, unless anyone has a better idea!
Thanks.

I dont think I would use the clay bar on the clear bra part. The clay bar does an excellent job of stripping down the old wax build up. when I had my clear bra installed the installer did tell me to make sure that I use a high quality wax from time to time on the clear bra area to keep it conditioned. Hope that helps a little.
Ok. Thanks. I will probably call the installer to see what he says about the clay bar, but that does make some sense.
I do everything the same to mine too, although I have not been driven to clay the car yet *gasp*. The only thing I do specifically for the clear bra is I take a q-tip and run it along the edges after drying and after waxing. Otherwise you can get a little build-up of gunk there and it will attract dirt. But that's the only thing I do any differently.
