Scratch on interior black trim (plastic turned white)

Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix a scratch on the black interior panel above the passenger side seat belt? Somewhere in the process of hauling some moving boxes with the MINI a big scratch was put into the trim and turned white.

Its not a deep scratch, only on the surface, but its not the dark black it used to be. I also have a bunch on the interior sides of my trunk. Thanks!

The favorite solutions around here seem to be peanut butter (yes, you heard that right) and possibly a tpuch of NEW motor oil (just enough to dampen your rag). You might want to try the tire detailing solution that makes your tires look black as well. Or, just put on a fairly thick coat of any vinyl-rubber protectant first and see if that helps, then move to the greasy/oily stuff afterwards if they still show up.

Honestly, though, it sounds like you have a scratch situation that might not be repairable 100%, but any of the above solutions should help you mask it to the naked eye.
