Impress Your Neighbors
Impress Your Neighbors
Our next door neighbor is a state trooper. In 2005 he actually won the award of "trooper of the year" which is a very high honor. As a result, he got a brand new dark blue unmarked patrol car (Crown Victoria).
Last summer when he took delivery of the car, he was complaining about what he thought were little rock chips on the roof of the car. The dealership told him it was "rail dust". He had never heard of rail dust and thought they were nutz. But my ears perked up when I heard him mention it. I had just received my latest order from Zaino and it included a clay bar. I remembered that the directions said that it would remove rail dust, so I offered to let him use it. He thought I was nuts! He said "How could a bar of clay take the chips out of the paint on his shiny dark blue patrol car"? Well, he gave it a try (with my instruction) and low and behold, it worked! He was amazed!
Yesterday I saw him washing the patrol car in his driveway. I went over to talk to him and check out his car. He had it really looking good. He had waxed it a few weeks back, but he was complaining about the wax that he had accidentaly gotten on the black plastic trim around his grill. It had turned white and he hadn't had any luck removing it. I suggested he try peanut butter. Again, he looked at me like I was nutz! But after the last time, he decided to give it a try. Well as you can guess, the peanut butter worked great. (I had actually never tried it before myself, so I was surprised as well)
I don't mean for this story to brag about how great a detailer I am (because I'm really not). But I thought it might inspire other people to offer to help their friends and neighbors with detailing their vehciles. It's been fun for me.
Now I think I've got him sold on the idea of trying Zaino because it lasts so long.

I recently introduced a friend who loves to spend hours detailing to Zaino. Suprisingly with all the time he spends cleaning he had ever heard of clay bars, microfiber or high end waxes and polishes.
So I brought over a box with all my zaino products, microfiber, plus the PC DVD I got from the NAM store for him to borrow. I got him an extra clay bar and bottle of z6 to hold him for future detailing and gave him an extra pair of microfiber gloves I had.
He was so damn excited after seeing what it did for my mini.

no better way than to use your neighbor's car as a g-pig. Trending Topics

Being a good neighbor is VERY important! Especially if he's a state trooper!
This is what I did for my new neighbor.
I took his old 1965 "pink" mustang

Polished it out with Meguiar's products and 14 hours later came up with this

Everytime after you give him a piece of advice be like: "That'll be a 55 in a 35..."
I love my neighborhood here, it's great. There are two retired police chiefs, and one State Trooper. They all seem to think Mike's a good kid and since he helps them out around the yard and with working on the shine on their cars they promise to "help out" Mike if he is ever in "need."

Hahah I wish. He did buy me a bottle of wax.
We are good friends now, and he hasn't asked me to wash his car once! Though I see it all the time and want to!
