Anyone Compared Z2 with Z2-Pro?
First, I have loads of Z2 to use up, so maybe this is a moot point kind of question. I was perusing zainobros.com and it appears Z2-Pro has replaced Z2. My wallet wants to keep on using up my existing Z2, but my curiousity won't let the question go... Anyone positively impressed by Z2-Pro compared to plain ol' Z2??
By the way, I saw on another thread where someone's ZFX had dried up or evaporated... Another person, same thread, didn't have any problem with it.
Well, (I think because my little blue bottle over-wintered outdoors (eek, it was an accident)), mine dried up too.
I bet the "no probs with ZFX" guy had the good sense to store it somewhere out of the weather. Alas, I'm in Chicago - live and learn (and spend), right?

The ZFX seems to be susceptible to extreme temperatures. I too had a vial of ZFX dry out over winter so now I keep all of my detailing supplies in the basement as long as they aren't getting regular usage.
After buying some new Zaino and finding it at a different consistency (nothing tragic mind you) than the new stuff, I emailed and asked Sal if (I should be storing it indoors....
His reply:
I found that room temperature gave the best longevity for Zaino
products... so that's what I prefer... The optical additives I use do
not like extreme heat or cold. It will decrease there gloss enhancing properties.
When stored in a cool dry place. Avoiding extreme heat or cold.
Shelf Life is as follows.
Z-1 For optimum results use before 3 years.
Z-2 For optimum results use before 3 years.
Z-5 For optimum results use before 3 years.
Z-6 5 years +
Z-7 5 years +
Z-8 5 years +
Z-9 5 years +
Z-10 For optimum results use before 2 years.
Z-12 For optimum results use before 2 years.
Z-14 For optimum results use before 2 years.
Z-16 3 to 5 years
Z-18 5 years +
Z-PC For optimum results use before 3 years.
ZFX For optimum results keep tightly capped and use before 18
months.

If you have Z2, use it.
There are differences with Z2 Pro, however. I have done a lot of comparitive testing. Z2 was water based. Z2 Pro has solvent in it now. In general, Pro is less finicky with the temperature or humidity level upon application. It will dry faster for sure and even comes off slightly easier. It is a bit glossier in my eye and definitely feels slicker, longer.

THanks All, for the great replies as usual. I'm saving the post about shelf life and sticking it with my other detailing docs (like my zaino instructions for example
). At least PAPER can survive a winter outdoors,
.
Also tks Brad for water-based vs. solvent comment. I was hoping you might show up
.
Gratefully,
