Greetings,
Suggestions on using foam vs. Terry Cloth bonnets on a 6" orbital buffer. I've used Terry Cloth on my previous vehicles, and wool for some heavy duty cleaning, but I really wasn't that concerned about swirl marks, etc as I was usually trying to restored tired paint. However, with the MINI I want the very best results.
What is your opinion on bonnets?
Thanks for your help
Kind Regards,
Ron

Unless you are going for a very high, high quality foam bonnet say from Griots or similar, you'd be ok. But anything short of that is a no-no in my book. I stick to terry cloth. The nap picks up things that the foam might just grind in.

YMMV.

Dave,
Thanks for your reply. I'll stick to Terry Cloth. One additional question that I should have posted above. There appears to be two types of Terry Cloth. Standard vs. Microfiber. Any thoughts on these two products.

Some people swear by microfiber in general. I've never had any luck or like for it. It tends to shed TONS of lint and is typically very "grabby". What I mean is that if it's not totally lubricated it will grab at your paint, glass, etc. Not something I find endearing when it comes to cleaning. I like gliding action, not jarring action.
