GD Snow Brushes

As if these things aren't disasterous by nature, I recently bought a new one to replace the one someone in the house decided to permanently borrow. The old one I had was nice because you could pull the scraper part off giving you better access to tight spots and eliminating accidents with paint. The new one has no removable pieces, and I have already put plastic residue scratches below the drivers door and on the front right fender.

I went at them with McGuiars Scratch X but it only minimized them. I love my black car, but between the swirls and now this stuff, I sometimes can't stand it. Any suggestions on getting these off? And its gonna be a while yet before the weather here is ok to do a complete clay, polish, and wax mind you.

Thanks guys.
TJM

I try to never brush snow off GBMINI; I will instead use my gloved hands - then switch to a new pair of (not wet) gloves after clearing the car.

If you must use a brush, try not to touch the paint but only get down to about the last 1/2" of snow - just remove enough to make the car driveable.

Uh...

I think my post was misunderstood, my apologies.

I NEVER use the brush part on anything but the glass. The rest can blow off as I drive for all I care. The scraper part however did "nick" the body while I was clearing the windows.

I am now trying to get rid of the residue it left.

Ah.
I don't use a brush on the windows.
I have a very small rubber/plastic scraper (4" blade, maybe). I normally try to use the rubber side to clear the glass; I'll use the harder plastic side to cut off ice/whatever if needed.
White handled, from Autozone I think.

If scratchx didn't remove it, then you have scratched through your paint. Wait till you have a chance to clean the car well then carefully touch up the scratch.
