Convertible Top Care
The protectant cover that is on there already will last you a few washes before you have to reapply something.
When washing mine, I would just hose down the roof the first several times, only once have I washed it with soap, and the roof is still beading water and shedding like a duck.
I too would like to know when the time comes, but just for your FYI you don't need it right away.

303 makes some great fabric products... a fabric cleaner and a fabric protectant. I use them both on my patio furniture and they have gotten rave reviews from convertible owners.
You can get them on-line, at many marine stores and a Smith & Hawken stores (upscale gardening... Imagine the place where Martha Stewart would buy her heirloom quality shovels and rakes...)
The cleaner probably runs $12 a bottle... the Protectant around $18.

I really like the RaggTopp line of cleaners and protectants. You can get the cleaner and the protectant as a set for about $25. (Make sure you get the fabric top version) The water beads off the roof like water off a duck's back! It lasts quite a while, too.

Question: Does anyone find sand or dirt in the folds on either side of the rear window? (You'll notice when the top is halfway up/down) I do and it's damn frustrating!
How did it get there? and it's a b!tch to get out too

I bought the 303 protectant, but I have not used it yet. My new MCSC's top is still beading water really well when I wash the car. I have been drying off the water from the top after spraying with the hose using a microfibre cloth. When it stops beading, I'll apply the 303 protectant. I do see creases in the top, but I don't see any wear marks yet. I'm keeping my eyes out for the wear that some people reported. I'm hoping they fixed the problem by the time I got mine (at the very end of the 2005 production).
What a fun car!

I agree with what others have said.
I absolutely love the 303 Cleaner but prefer the Raggtop Protectant. You can't go wrong with this combo!
I just helped a friend clean and re-seal his Jaguar's convertible top this weekend. It was only a year old but it made a huge difference. And it really beads water now!

Yeah I second the Raggtopp...its the best I've seen or used. You can get some online on Amazon.com or by calling Paintworldinc.com at 1-800-548-4321...Paintworldinc is less expensive than Amazon too....oh and make sure you ask for the fabric one not the vinyl one.
