first time waxing nightmare
first time waxing nightmare
A few years ago when I had my acura rsx, I decided to wax for the very first time. Not knowing anything about waxing, or reading anything on the internet, I went to a local auto shop and bought a wax, in green round shape with a free applicator on top. I think it's called turtle wax or something like that.
I wash my car, dried it up and start applying the wax. I only had 1 dry towel left after washing/drying. I think I applied too much wax the first time and not sure how to remove it afterward. Is removing the wax called buffing? Well the only 1 dry towel i had is now filled with wax or looks really dirty. I started using blue paper towels, bought at the autoshop, to remove the wax and still the car doesn't look as good as before the car wash.
I sadly gave up on waxing after that time and never tried waxing my rsx again. Does anyone else have first time waxing problems? Could applying zaino z1-z6 make your car look uglier if you did it incorrectly?

Zaino is a completely different product than waxes...
With wax, if you apply too much, your big problem is trying to get it all off with limited towels. One towel will fill up pretty quickly with the extra wax you are buffing off and after a few minutes you just wind up smearing the wax around rather than transferring it from car to towel. Because the wax is on there so thick, it still has a lot of the solvents in there making it soft and it just won't come off or dry properly.
I put on entirely too much Zaino on my first applicaction. It was a little hard to remove and took me 2 two large cotton towels to remove from a 4 door sedan. The key, I later found, to a good Zaino-ing is using as little product as possible while still getting complete coverage. Use a foam applicator instead of the cotton ones Zaino ships and you will not have any problem at all. If you do have trouble removing the Zaino, just give it a bit longer to dry or spritz it with a little bit of Z6 (Zaino Quick Detailer) and it will come right off.
