Windex for washer fluid?

Can that stuff even withstand freezing temps? Ive always wanted to try these: http://www.autogeek.net/303iwt.html but for now I just use the blue or purple stuff at the gas station.

DON'T use windex, it will be real hard on your paint.
I use Rain/x windshield washer. The winter stuff is great. I'm on my first bottle of the summer bug stuff, and it seems better than the cheap stuff. The Rain/x is a about a buck more a jug.

Yea, good stuff.

And use 303 Blade Treatment. It works! (and it's cheap) Been using this since it was introduced and I am sold.

I tried the rain-x orange fluid and it worked well but seemed to leave more gunk on my car. Plus, since my car is LY, the orange stood out. I have switched to generic blue from teh auto parts store.

I use the concentrated MINI OEM windshield washer fluid. It costs $1 a bottle at my dealer's parts counter and it works perfectly. Cleans the glass without leaving strikes or messes and it does not harm your paint finish.

I don't use aftermarket junk. Use the MINI windshield fluid. You'll be glad you did.

I thought of using that stuff. What is it's cold temp. max.? I need something that won't freeze down to -45C.

How is it with bugs.

How concentrated is it? How many gallons of mix do you get per bottle?

It takes a gallon to fill both the windshield and head light washers.

OEM stuff is good down to -51c (according to label).

Label has varying dilutions to meet freezing points, or region specific locations.

It's not at all expensive. I've used it from day one & haven't considered trying anything else.

I've used the orange Rain-X stuff in my previous cars. It was real convenient-just a shot in the morning and I had the advantage of Rain-X's rain shedding for a day or two. The orange stuff made a bit of a mess, but not unbearable. I think I'll try the MINI concentrated when I get a chance. Along these lines-I found a spray on windshield cleaner at Advance Auto Parts that is a gel. It's called "Wonder Gel" and costs $3.99). You spray it on and it doesn't run off the windshield; just stays there until you wipe it off. I've been using it along with the Bounty streak free towels (the ones with the little blue squares on them-get 'em from Target, among others) with pretty good success in cleaning the windows.
Keep those wheels turning!
