My Ultimate Protection kit arrived today. I haven't been home to check the package but my wife says it has an extremely strong odor but it doesn't seem like anything spilled. Zaino is closed right now so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. In the meantime can someone verify if this is normal or did something spill?

 

I had the same experiance when I ordered mine , it smelled strongly of the leather cleaner but nothing was open or spilled. I find this to be normal that it starts to emit smells through the almost airtight openings in the contianer when its somewhere for a while.

This is not too scientific, but can be a hint ... I just received my order of 'Total Protection Kit' (vs. Ultimate Protection Kit you have) yesterday. There is no odor at all. So, compared what are not included in my package vs. yours, these are what you have extra, which I don't have ...

Z-9™ Leather Soft Spray Cleaner
Z-10™ Leather in a Bottle
Z-16™ Perfect Tire Gloss

So, may be you're right, the odor may come from the Z-9 or Z-10 leather cleaning bottles.

 

I'm hoping all is ok! I haven't been home to inspect the package myself but my wife says that it doesn't seem like anything spilled but she could smell it even before opening the package. The odor was strong...strong enough that when she brought the box inside the house that the whole room smelled of it. If worse comes to worse I'll have to get a replacement but I was planning on doing the Zaino this weekend!

 

That can't be right. I've ordered that kit twice and never had an odor emitting from the closed box (or open for that matter).

 

Well Zaino rep assured me all was ok but was willing to switch out bottles if needed. I did check and the package and contents were intact. One of the applicator sponges had the most odor so I'm cleaning that one before using it.
