How long before first wax?

Just as the title says, How long do I have to wait before I can wax it?

Wait for what?

Mine was waxed the first weekedn I had off after picking up the car... so 1 week... it got a nice shower, clay rub and second shower.. the new baby then received several rubdowns with Zaino.... since then the baby has received two more coats (for a total of 5)... I hope to get 4 more coats on before a road trip in a few weeks.

Oh, I thought I heard somewhere that you had to wait awhile before waxing so you don't put swirls in your paint. Sorry! This is good news as I'm itching to get a coat or two on there!

Thanks!

Those days are long gone. Back with the 'don't but a battery on concrete' days.

MINI paint is bake cured so it should be OK.

Some of us will wait 1-3 months to let the paint cure- certainly this can be done if you repaint/ install the aerokit and sideskirts or paint the arches and trim. Check with your paint shop.

No harm is done waiting a few months and washing each week only.

kaelaria is correct. My wifes far had a front quarter panel replaced late last year. It was freshly painted. I asked the very reputable body shop who did the work, how long I would have to wait until I waxed it. They said with today's paints, you can wax it right away without a problem. Now, you see, if they told me wrong and it ruined the paint, they'd be responsible for repainting it. So I don't think they were misleading me, or it would have been $$ out of their pocket for warranty work.

Well her one month birthday is tomorrow, so I went ahead and waxed her this afternoon.

She looks great! Gave her the three step process, and although I was out there for 3 hours, I loved every minute of it. And, since I live in an apartment complex, I met several new friends today who admired my baby. Being the only cabrio in town and only one of two MINI's, she's somewhat a local celebrity

Thanks for the help in letting me wax her without worries!
