Black Rubber Mats Are Now White

Thanks to the endless winter and countless feet of snow that have fallen in the great Northeast, my black rubber mats are now almost totally white with salt stains. Does anyone know the best product to use to clean them and restore them to their original black beauty?

soap and water. finish off with some windex and a diluted solution of your favorite tire/vinyl sauce.

The rubber mats rinse off surprisingly well. I washed my car this weekend and expected to have to work to get the salt off the mats. Nope. It just rinsed right off

In addition to frequent washing of the mats I also treat it with vinyl solution from Zaino which works really well for me. Looks new. And Oh so soft!

By comparison the carpet mats in my other cars are stained and dirty no matter how much I clean and scrub them. Yuk.

Aftermarket floor mats

Could anyone recommend an aftermarket floor mat for rain and snow? Something deep and rubber with no rug.

They look good, but MINI is not listed as a vehicle they are available for.

Just how dirty do they get in Hawaii?

Mine are beige, so they don't show the salt quite as bad, but I just spray them down with water and the salt comes right off. I HAVE used soap a couple times, but I could never get the smell out completely, and my car smelled like soap for a few days. So, I just stick with the water.

The black mats are nice because they don't stain at all. A quick spray down with water and they look new again. I'm going with the black for my MINI.
